6 event preparation meetings
My team members and I discussed on the activities that can be done at Rumah Victory and we came to a conclusion that we will be carrying out one indoor activity which is DIY Bag Stamping and one outdoor activity which will be Water Balloon. As a leader, I accepted all the inputs and suggestions from my team members. After confirming on the activities and the pre-visit to Rumah Victory, I started delegating the task among all the members. Each member was assigned to write meeting minutes on each meeting respectively. I listed all the workloads that we will have to complete for the event preparation and allowed my team member to choose the task that they would like to do, however, I made sure that there was equal distribution of task among all of us in the group. The budget list was also finalised after surveying the price for each item needed. We started purchasing the items delegate to each of us and kept the receipt safely. One week before the event, we had a trial run on carving some patterns on the vegetables and stamping it on the bag as well as checking on how long does the paint takes to dry. The trial run was a success and we enjoyed stamping the bags. Moreover, we also discussed on the rules and instructions for the Water Balloon activity.
1 post event meeting
My team members and I decided to have a small sharing session where we could talk about our experiences and feelings on the activities that we have done for the children at Rumah Victory Children & Youth Home. I was the first to share my experiences and I had a great time revealing how I felt about the teamwork and group’s effort which made us to conduct the activities excellently. I also took the opportunity to thank each team member individually for their contribution as I wanted them to feel appreciated for the amount of work that they have done. As a leader, I personally feel very thankful for having great team members who turned out to be responsible team players as well. At the end of the meeting, everyone felt happy about what we have contributed to the lovely kids at Rumah Victory and all of us had a wonderful time with the children.
